How to Download Your Data Exports (9 Platforms)

Follow these concise checklists to grab your account exports. Once downloaded, import the ZIP files into ForensAI for on-device analysis.

Before You Start

• Use a desktop browser whenever possible—it’s faster and avoids mobile download limits.
• Have access to your account password, 2FA device, and enough storage (exports can be several GB).
• Keep the downloaded ZIP archives intact; ForensAI reads them directly after extraction.

Google Takeout (Gmail, Drive, Activity)

1. Go to takeout.google.com and sign in.
2. Click Deselect all, then enable: Account, Security, My Activity, Gmail, Drive, Location History.
3. Choose .zip, file size 2GB or 10GB, delivery via email link, then hit Create export.
4. When the email arrives, download the ZIP(s) and extract them to a folder.

Apple Privacy Report

1. Visit privacy.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
2. Select Request a copy of your data → Get started.
3. Choose JSON format and include: Account details, App Store/iTunes activity, iCloud Drive, Photos (if needed).
4. Submit the request, then download the archive(s) Apple emails when ready.

Facebook & Instagram (Meta)

1. Facebook: Settings & privacy → Download your information. Select JSON, set date range to All time, choose data categories (Posts, Messages, Security & login info).
2. Instagram: Settings → Download your information. Request via email in JSON format.
3. Meta sends an email when the export is ready—download and unzip.

Microsoft Account Privacy Dashboard

1. Head to account.microsoft.com/privacy.
2. Under Download your data, choose browsing history, searches, apps & services, and location data.
3. Request the archive and download the ZIP once Microsoft notifies you.

Dropbox

1. Log in at dropbox.com/account/data-export.
2. Select the folders or choose Export everything for a full history.
3. Download the generated ZIP file and keep the structure intact.

After You Download

1. Extract each ZIP into its own folder (Google Takeout, Apple Data, etc.).
2. Open ForensAI → tap New Scan → choose the folder containing the export.
3. ForensAI parses JSON/CSV/HTML files, runs 20+ detection patterns, and produces instant summaries and PDF reports.

Troubleshooting Tips

• Export pending too long? Resubmit the request—some vendors throttle large archives.
• ZIP won’t open? Re-download using a stable connection or try a desktop unzip tool (7-Zip, The Unarchiver).
• 2FA blocking access? Temporarily add a backup method (e.g., SMS) so you can re-authenticate during downloads.
